Australia is Hurting

Been too ill to be writing lately, but wanted to alert anyone interested to what has been happening in Oz. The whole of Eastern Australia, roughly the same length as the Western Coast of USA, has been devastated by catastrophic flooding, the like of which I have seen only twice previously in my 72 years.

My wife, myself and family have not suffered any loss, but, literally thousands have lost everything of material value. Many lives have been lost when a wall of water swept through a small country town west of Brisbane, wiping it off the face of the map. At least 50 not yet accounted for.

To get a glimpse of what has happened check out the following web page of our Brisbane newspaper, the Courier Mail:

I had been wondering how you were doing. I'm glad you are safe and have not personally lost anything. I'm sorry for your country.

Aussie J,

I join with many others in the USA in praying for you and your countrymen. I, like Eric, have been deeply concerned for you personally and am thrilled that you are safe.

Thank you for the love expressed in your thoughts and prayers.

When I look at the destruction of property, and especially lives, such as a bay snatched, by a raging torrent, from her pregnant mother's arms, I can only stand in amazement at the providential grace which has allowed Val and I, as well as our family scattered over the Eastern states, to live on high ground.

Thank you for sharing about this. I've been praying for you and your family, and I'll keep praying for the people affected there and for the church to care for those in need.

What a wonderful family I belong to!
Thank you for your prayers. On Monday I have to attend a specialist for some ultrasound exploration, so I have no doubt your prayers are Holy Spirit directed.

Have been disappointed to see that the evangelical churches have not been publicly obvious with care for the many who are in dire need, in the way some of the frowned upon churchess are doing.

Thank you again for your prayers!
